The 26-year-old left the organization on Friday after two seasons at Arrowhead.

Perine played in three games last season as the Chiefs won back-to-back Super Bowls.

He arrived in Kansas City in 2021 and has been used sparingly as a change-of-pace option in an explosive offense.

Perine battled for snaps alongside Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Isaiah Pacheco last season.

He totaled 25 touches for 110 yards in 2023, seeing action on 59 offensive snaps and 55 on special teams.

Following Perin’s release, Keaontay Ingram and former rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit are next on the depth chart.

“Wow I thought he would make the team over CEH, guess I was wrong,” wrote one Chiefs fan on X.

“Thanks to him! He played crucial minutes en route to a Super Bowl victory,” said another.

“He never got a fair shot,” added a third.

“I thought he showed a lot of potential,” claimed a fourth.

Perine is the cousin of fellow NFL stars Samaje Perine and Myles Jack.

He was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2020 Draft.

As a Florida Gator, Perine was named MVP of the 2019 Orange Bowl.

He finished his collegiate career with 2,485 yards, the eighth most in school history.

The Alabama native scored 22 rushing touchdowns on 493 carries in Florida.

He added 72 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns.
