Patrick Mahomes Is Nearing Major Record In Chiefs’ History
The Kansas City Chiefs have had their share of solid players.
Nonetheless, Patrick Mahomes has turned the franchise around from the very second he took the reins as starting quarterback.
The Texas Tech product has exceeded all expectations and more, up to the point where some believe he’s the only player who stands a chance to take Tom Brady down as the greatest to ever do it.
Mahomes has only been around for less than a decade, taking over as the starter in 2018.
Then again, as pointed out by KC Sports Network, he’s just 84 yards away from becoming the team’s all-time passing leader.
As of now, Mahomes has thrown for 28,424 yards, trailing only the legendary Len Dawson (28,507 passing yards).
Mahomes has already put together a Hall of Famer kind of résumé, and he hasn’t even turned 29 yet.
We’re talking about a quarterback who has dominated the league early on like no one before, reaching the AFC Championship Game in every single year as a starter, and making it to the Super Bowl four times over that span.
Just two quarterbacks have beaten Mahomes in the playoffs, and those are Joe Burrow (once) and Tom Brady
(twice), boasting an impressive 15-3 record thus far.
He’s well on pace of breaking every single quarterback-related record to date, and he could even be at the forefront of the only team to win a three-peat in the Super Bowl era.
It’s still early to tell but at this pace, he’s going to walk away as the undisputed GOAT.
