Meghan Markle suffers awkward moment as she asks woman to move away from Prince Harry
Meghan Markle suffered quite an awkward moment while attending the recent Sentebale polo tournament when she asked a woman not to pose next to Prince Harry.
On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a sweet public kiss at a Sentebale event in Miami. Before the public smooch, the couple were spotted smiling and walking hand in hand ahead of Harry’s fundraising polo match in Florida – with a film crew in tow.
The couple were in attendance at the Sentebale Polo Cup, which is held annually in aid of Sentebale, the charity Harry co-founded in 2006. For the event, Harry captained the Royal Salute Sentebale Team against the Grand Champions Team, with his team winning triumphantly and Meghan presenting her husband with the trophy before they kissed in front of everyone at the event.
But in footage that has emerged since, it appears that Meghan requested a woman in a white dress to move to the middle of the group and away from her husband Prince Harry, so that Meghan could be next to her man. In a clip circulating online, Harry kept his arm around Meghan while she spoke to the lady and seemingly insisted that she stand beside her husband for the photo opportunity.
The awkward exchange lasted for several moments as everybody else shuffled around them, and then as Meghan insisted on standing beside her husband, the lady was forced to duck under the trophy to find her spot on stage, with her then saying something to the Duchess.
Commenting on the blunder, one person penned on X: “They are both so awkward.” While a second said: “This is just so cringeworthy!!”
But someone else pointed out: “It was actually the other woman in the white dress asking. Lol, people make the biggest deals out of literally nothing.”
