Jurgen’s a Swiftie! Outgoing Liverpool boss Klopp reveals he will return to Anfield in June to watch the singer’s Eras Tour with wife Ulla as he gets ready to enjoy post-Reds life
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is set to return to Anfield to watch Taylor Swift perform in June.
The Reds boss left his role at the weekend after nine years in charge, waving goodbye to Anfield with a 2-0 victory over Wolves in his 491th and final game in charge of the club.
He is now set for an extended break, and have even teased that he may never return to management, with fans eager to see what his next role will be if he ever does make a comeback.
First, however, he is set for some down time, and that will, perhaps coincidentally, coincide with a return to Anfield a little earlier than many had expected.
In an hour-long Q&A with staff at Liverpool, the German, according to The Athletic, revealed his wife, Ulla, has purchased tickets for the pair to watch Swift’s Eras Tour at his former home stadium next month.
According to the report, Klopp, 56, revealed the news after being asked what music he likes listening to when he gets a moment away from football.
After answering the question, he is said to have broken into song, covering Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ in front of the crowd.
Swift’s worldwide Eras Tour will make its way to the United Kingdom from June 7, starting in Edinburgh before heading south to Liverpool.
She will hold three shows at Anfield, starting on June 13 and ending on June 15, before a show in Cardiff, then three in London.
The pop superstar, who is dating NFL star Travis Kelce, will then perform three shows in Dublin, before heading back to Europe via Amsterdam, returning to London briefly in August and concluding in December in Vancouver, which will bring an end to a 21-month tour that started in March last year in Arizona, the United States.
