Patrick Mohomes drop two reasons Why Travis Kelce hasn’t recruited by him to work with his trainer Bobby Stroupe.
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are more than just teammates. The two Kansas City Chiefs stars often spend time together outside of their team activities, and that’s why it’s strange that Mahomes hasn’t invited his tight end to a particular activity that they both seem like they might enjoy.
Not only that, Mahomes has invited several of his teammates to share those practices. Among the players who have responded to the quarterback’s call are receiver Rashee Rice and newcomer Marquise Brown, as well as his friend Shane Buechele, who plays for the Buffalo Bills.
While details of the sessions are unknown, with training camp three months away, Mahomes and his teammates might just be looking to stay fit amid the offseason slack.
Kelce’s notable absence
On the contrary, the Chiefs’ star tight end’s mind seems to be very far from his profession. Amid his whirlwind romance with singer Taylor Swift, Kelce has spent his time traveling from one end of the world to the other: from his girlfriend’s concerts in Australia and Singapore to their recent vacation on the paradisiacal beaches of the Bahamas.
Furthermore, it does not seem that the player is thinking of resuming practice very soon. In a recent episode of the podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Travis announced that in the coming days, he will take the challenge of eating a 30-slice pizza by himself, enough to feed 10 to 12 people.
Amid Kelce’s apparent disregard for his physical condition, the question arises again: why hasn’t Mahomes invited him to his private workouts?
The Mahomes-Kelce friendship
Both players have said publicly that they are friends. Mahomes even said in an interview that they are like brothers and their families are one.
Beyond the personal field, Kelce and Mahomes have ventured together. They are part of the Alpine F1 team’s investor group and are co-owners of the 1587 Prime Steakhouse restaurant, which will be located at the Loews Hotel on Wyandotte Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mahomes and Kelce are each enjoying their offseason in their own way. However, there is no doubt that the duo will be ready for September when the kickoff of the 2024 season marks the beginning of the race toward Super Bowl LIX and the search for an unprecedented three-peat by the Chiefs.
