Tyreek Hill cruelly mocks Patrick Mahomes’ Miami throw: ‘Don’t throw ducks in our stadium’
The NFL sent a message to Mahomes as he visited the Hard Rock Stadium
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill mocked Patrick Mahomes about the strength of his throwing arm after catching the Kansas City Chiefs star on his territory in Miami. With the NFL currently on pause during the offseason, Mahomes visited the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium, which acts a base for the teams and drivers at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
With some time to kill before the F1 Sprint race and qualifying, Mahomes put his skills to the test with a full-size football and showed no signs of rust as he filmed a short clip with the Alpine F1 team, of whom he is an investor along with Travis Kelce.
The three-time Super Bowl champion launched the ball from the 50-yard line to a member of the Alpine F1 team, who was standing in the hospitality box. Quite an achievement, even by his lofty standards.
The video footage of the throw has since gone viral, and his former team-mate, Tyreek Hill couldn’t resist giving his assessment with a good-natured jab at his former colleague.
“Don’t be throwing ducks in our stadium,” Hill told Mahomes, tweeting from his X account to his 957,000 followers.
A ‘duck’ usually refers to a weak or off-target pass that might end up getting intercepted, something Mahomes isn’t usually guilty of as one of the most consistent passers in the NFL.
Tyreek Hill has huge respect for Mahomes
The playful comments should not be interpreted as anything from serious from Hill, who once upon time was Mahomes’ wide receiver.
He has been insistent that the 28-year-old star is the best quarterback in the division, telling a story of how the QB once called out the entire Chiefs offense in a furious rant, which actually improved his standing with his team-mates.
“We were on a bad streak, his supporting cast was playing bad; me, [Travis] Kelce, DeMarcus Robinson, Mecole [Hardman], Sammy [Watkins], we all was playing bad,” Hill previously said about his time in Kansas City. “This dude [Mahomes] called the whole offense up … he cussed all of us the f*** out.”
