Travis Kelce supports Taylor Swift’s big night at Golden Globes in an unexpected way
Kelce rested for Chiefs game vs Chargers
Travis Kelce was unable to support his girlfriend Taylor Swift at the Golden Globe Awards in person, because the Kansas City Chiefs were playing.
But with Kelce on the sidelines for the game, the NFL on CBS broadcast did not miss the opportunity to bring the Golden Globes to him, instead.
CBS, the channel airing both the Chiefs Week 18 game against the Los Angeles Chargers and the 81st Golden Globe Awards, used the popular “Tayvis” connection to promote the upcoming award ceremony during the live football game.
“not them talking about the golden globes while showing travis, they so know what they’re doing,” observed an accound called Tayvis Nation on Twitter/X.
Swift’s concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” is nominated for a Golden Globe in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, and she would make history if it were to win.
Chiefs rest Kelce in final game, costing him 1,000-yard season
The camera zoomed in on the Chiefs’ star tight end, who was inactive for the game because Kansas City coach Andy Reid wanted him to get an extra week of rest before the NFL playoffs.
It may have cost Kelce a place in the history books, as he needed just 16 more yards to set a record for consecutive 1,000-yard seasons by a tight end.
Taylor Swift’s expected attendance at the awards show meant she could not go watch Kelce’s last game of the regular season with the Kansas City Chiefs, which was also in Los Angeles on the same day. However, the Chiefs secured a home game in the NFL Playoffs, so she may still have an opportunity to see him play this season.
